Filter Maintenance
HOW DO I CLEAN MY AFE POWER AIR FILTER?
- The two most popular filter media are the oiled Pro 5R and the oil-free Pro DRY S.
-
Oiled filters generally offer higher flow than dry filters, but they require the maintenance of re-oiling every time you clean your filter every 25-30k miles.
-
A dry filter lets you skip the re-oiling step when cleaning your filter and still offers protection.
-
An oiled filter needs oil to run correctly. Never run an oiled filter without oil. Conversely, a dry filter is designed to be dry; never oil a dry filter.
Please see instructions below for your filter.

How do I find a replacement air filter for my aFe POWER air intake?
1. aFe POWER Air Filters are washable and reusable and should last the lifetime of your vehicle. To ensure proper functionality, we recommend maintaining your air filter regularly by cleaning, and oiling it if you have an oiled filter, every 20k-30k miles or sooner if you’ve been through extremely dusty or dirty conditions.
2. To get a replacement filter or an additional filter with different media, you can search for it on the aFe POWER website by the filter’s part number. If you need help finding that, see “Where can I find the part number for an aFe POWER Air Filter?
To find the part number on your filter, look for the round “button” and you will find it as indicated in the images below.
